Good post from another board

I find it crazy how some people are down on the ACC. I actually think the 2010 media deal with ESPN was brilliant! The ACC aligned themselves with ESPN and doubled their TV dollars for a 12 team Conf! The went from making 79.3M or $12.3M avg per school in 2010-11 to $217.9M or $26.2M avg per school in 2014-15. (Only in Four Years) WOW!! And we grew the Conf at the same time!!

I also love how the ACC signed GOR and extended their deal to get more money and then put in the kicker that ESPN either provides a channel or pays the extra 50M to the Conference! That is almost what the ACC received in 2010 for the entire year in TV dollars (79.3M) and by the way this is not a one time payment this is a yearly bump in payment until they get a channel!

ACC REVENUES LAST EIGHT YEARS

..................Total ..TV .. Bowl NCAA Avg. share

2007-2008 $162.8 $75.3 $29.2 $15.1 $11.8

2008-2009 $172.7 $76.9 $30.7 $15.9 $13.6

2009-2010 $158.2 $77.6 $31.6 $18.2 $11.7

2010-2011 $167.2 $79.3 $36.7 $18.2 $12.3

2011-2012 $223.6 $130.5 $43.8 $17.7 $16.9

2012-2013 $232.4 $146.6 $36.7 $18.2 $17.6

2013-2014 $302.3 $197.2 $48.8 $17.5 $19.3*

2014-2015 $403.1 $217.9 $94.2 $18.4 $26.2*

* Average full share. Partial ACC member Notre Dame received $4.9 million in its first year in the league, $6.2 million in its second.

While I see people upset about a gap, there will always be a donor GAP... I also find it interesting that this GAP did not stop FSU from winning the Natty a few years ago or GT whipping Miss State in the OB in 2014 or Clemson making to the National Title game last year!!

Comparing per-school distributions is an inexact practice, since leagues have different accounting practices and media rights deals. But everyone engages, so here ya go: Below are the 2014-15
SEC: $32.7 million, Big Ten 29.3 million, ACC $26.2 million, Pac-12 $25.3 million, Big 12 $23.3 million.

Again the ACC has been money since 2010 if you ask me, they have expanded the league and the money when everyone said the ACC would fall apart and fold just two to three years ago! ESPN is letting the BIG go to FOX why? Because the ACC is here to stay!!
